What Is the Best Use of Spot Colors?

Spot colors are best used for solid areas of color, such as logos, text, and simple graphics that require consistent, precise color reproduction.

Spot colors are generally not suitable for photographic images or most gradients. If artwork contains photographs, complex gradients, or a wide range of colors, a spot-color-only method such as Dry Offset printing may not be the best option. In these cases, another printing method, such as IML, may be more appropriate.
