PIR comes from usable plastic material generated during manufacturing, such as rejected parts, runners, molding remnants, or other production material. It is recovered before entering the consumer waste stream and processed for reuse.
Both can help reduce demand for virgin resin, but the appropriate option depends on the product, application, performance requirements, regulatory considerations, and sustainability goals.
